About Me

Helping people is what drove me towards becoming a licensed home inspector. I have been in the construction industry for over 12 years now. Over the years I realized that most people do not necessarily understand how their home live and breathe. Doing home inspections gives me the opportunity to do just that, I make them understand in a short period of time the basics of their home while inspecting it from top to bottom for small to major deficiencies.

If you wonder why “Ridge” Home Inspections, it is simply because of my passion for mountaineering and if I’m not working you will most likely find me somewhere in the Rockies. Although these days you will mostly find me on short hikes with my wife and daughter as we are trying to get our little one to love the Rockies as much as we do. And if I’m not out there I’m probably building something or doing renovations.

My Story

I was born In Quebec in September 1979. After high school I flew straight to Vancouver for the adventure and slowly made my way to Alberta and felt in love with it. After several months travelling I decided it was time to go back to school to pursue a carrier. First, I studied Telecommunication in college, unfortunately when I came out of college the communication sector simply crashed. Needless to say, there wasn’t much out there for me at that point. But it is during my studies that I meet my wonderful wife and with no real possible carrier opportunity for me we both decided to move to Calgary for a year and leave the adventure together.

After enjoying my time in the Rockies for a year and trying hard to find a job in my field I realized that it was time for me to take a different path but this time something I am passionate about rather then something based on the economical growth at the time.

This passion of mine was construction, it started young with my dad and older brother as we were doing renovations ourselves not only to save money but because we enjoyed it and we were good at it. For me though it was always more then just putting materials together, I needed to understand how everything works together. So instead of learning a trade, I decided to go to architectural school. I finished top of my class and found a job downtown Calgary right away where I spend many years working on various extraordinary and complex buildings such as provincial hospitals and laboratories for the U of C. Although we were helping many people and future generations by building those amazing building, I felt I was being pulled away from my family and I wasn’t getting this one on one approach with clients. Home inspections was always a dream of my mine, something I knew I would be good at and would be directly helping people. I made a decision and went back to SAIT to study home inspection. Even though I knew most of it already the course was great and it is required by the government of Alberta, which is a good thing. Now, I couldn’t be happier, I get to help people daily, I’m still in the construction field and most importantly I have more time for my family.

End Goal

My Goal is to be the best at what I do and help people with their largest investment in life. I want to provide more then just a home inspection report, I want to establish a relationship and trust with every client I have to chance to meet.
